Chitra Pournami

Chitra Pournami is observed on the full moon day in the Tamil month of Chithirai and is associated with Chitragupta, the divine record-keeper of human deeds. The festival is especially significant in Tamil Nadu, where devotees visit temples and water bodies to perform rituals.  The festival is celebrated to seek forgiveness for past mistakes and to reflect on one’s actions. It is believed that sincere prayers bring peace, balance, and guidance in life.
