It is strongly believed that whoever bathe in the Uthiravaahini river on the Sundays before sunrise in the month of Kaarthika (Nov mid to Dec mid), all their sins and difficulties vanishes.
Pariharam Procedure
Devotees perform abisheka and offer new clothes (vastras) to the Lord and the Mother.
