Kaarha Maharishi did penance here and got abundance of knowledge and wisdom. Hence this place is named after him as "Kaaragam". One who devotes to this Lord will excel in all forms of knowledge.

Temple History, Speciality, Miracle and Greatness

The Perumal here is facing North in standing posture under Vamana Vimana as the one who scaled the three worlds by His foot with His right leg pressed to the ground and the left upward. Traditionally, the form is with left leg pressed to the ground and the right up. Kargha Magarishi worshipped this Lord. This temple is inside the Ulagalanda Perumal temple.
